Fans swarmed as the boys of One Direction walked quickly down the street, however one member was missing.
“Where’s Niall?!” Voices yelled as bright lights flashed through the crowd. Paul pushed hastily through the crowd, other security tried their hardest to suppress the wild fangirls who screamed and cried as the boys pushed through.
Louis, Liam, Harry and Zayn finally squeezed through the door to their hotel and sighed heavily as the screams became muffled behind glass doors.
They silently made their way to the elevator in which they huddled up close and travelled to the top floor, the penthouse.
As they opened the door the silence remained, Louis collapsing onto the couch and burying his face in his hands, Harry angrily storming into the bedroom. Liam crouching on the floor, a cry escaping from his lips as Zayn soothed him, rubbing circles on his back.
The shower sounded from up the hall and the boys didn’t dare to look at each other.
Liam’s phone vibrated from his pocket to which Zayn answered, talking quietly to a concerned Danielle.
“Stupid prick.” Louis growled, “Leaving us. Leaving the band.”
Liam looked up, his eyes stinging with more tears, “He’s not a prick.”
“Yes he is.”
“No he isn’t!” Liam sobbed, “He’s not even close to being a prick! You’re saying that ‘cause you miss him! You are!”
Liam’s voice faded to an inaudible whisper, “You only miss him…”
Tears rolled slowly down Louis’ cheeks as he stared into the distance, slightly rocking back and forth on the cold sofa.
“Danielle’s upset too.” Zayn mumbled. He stood in the hallway, his hands clutching the phone for dear life.
“Mmhm.” Louis grumbled from his same position.
Harry walked into the kitchen and poured a glass of water, his wet mop of curls leaving droplets of water to fall from his forehead and onto his cheeks, blending with his tears. He took a sip before leaning over the counter and sobbing into his hands.
Sadness filled their souls as they all kept quiet, all together physically but separate mentally.
“WHY?” Harry howled, lowering himself onto the floor of the kitchen.
“Louis… turn on the TV.” Zayn whimpered, his bottom lip trembling and tears threatening to spill, “I wonder if it’s made it to the news yet.”
The TV flickered before a photo of Niall appeared on the screen, the news woman frowned and stared into the camera.
“Niall Horan from the popular British boy-band, One Direction has died today. More information to come soon.” The TV flicked off and the boys all gathered, tears falling heavily from each of their eyes. Their arms hung over each others’ shoulders as they bowed their heads. The boy from Doncaster prayed for Niall to rest in peace. The boy from Cheshire prayed for Niall to stay safe up there. The boy from Wolverhampton prayed for Niall to come back and the boy from Bradford prayed for the boys to be strong without him.
And the boy from Mullingar? Well he was standing in the hallway blinking away tears as he prayed for them to turn around and see him for one last time.
